Country Pavilion exhibition stands

In national participation programmes, a pavilion gathers several exhibitors into a single scheme. The design problem differs from that of a single stand: a shared national identity has to be built, yet each company’s name and product must still be visible. A pavilion that loses that balance becomes either an anonymous corridor or a pile of stands drowning each other out. The answer usually lies in a shared superstructure: a fascia, perimeter band or ceiling scheme that gives the whole pavilion its identity sits above, while the company units work with their own surfaces below. The visitor sees the country from a distance and the company on approach. Pavilion projects also differ in timing: the exhibitor list is confirmed late and the number of units can change. So we build the design as a module system to which units can be added or removed. Correspondence with the organising body, regulations and build coordination are our responsibility as well.
