Portable exhibition stands

We recommend a portable stand when your plot is between 4 and 20 square metres and there is no more than a day for the build. An exhibition in a congress foyer, a dealer day, a launch in a hotel function room, a field event or a small corner at a large fair: the same logic works for all of them. The stand arrives in cases, goes up in a day and is packed away the same day the event ends.

How we produce it

The set is light: a printed back panel or tension fabric wall, a backlit or printed counter, a screen mount, a brochure holder and, where needed, a small display case. Frames are aluminium and the panels are prepared in our own workshop in Beylikdüzü. We draw the design in three dimensions, lay out the graphics to the panel dimensions and order the print ourselves.

This type gets a trial assembly in the workshop too; nothing goes into a case until the lighting, the screen and the counter sit right. Our own crew builds it, and when the event is over we dismantle it, pack it into its cases and hand it to you. In congress centres and hotel function rooms we ask about the build hours and the loading door in advance.

Where we have used it

An example of a small event stand: in 2025 we built an 8 square metre event stand for Forma Makina at Çırağan Palace. That job was a timber build, but the scale and the venue are exactly where a portable stand works. On the fair side the Evafone stand at Petzoo Eurasia 2026 was 12 square metres. Our congress, launch and showroom jobs are gathered on the showroom and events page.

What we pay attention to

  • Height: ceilings in a congress foyer or hotel function room are lower than in an exhibition hall, so the panel height is chosen to the venue.
  • Lighting: the counter light and the panel spot are wired to run from a single socket, and we ask for the socket position in advance.
  • Heavy products: a portable panel carries no load; a sample sits on the counter or on its own small plinth.
  • Floor: carpet is not compulsory in most venues; if wanted, roll carpet travels with the cases.
  • Venue rules: we follow the build hours, loading door and lift dimensions of the congress centre or hotel ourselves.

What it does well

A portable set-up has three real advantages. Transport: the kit fits in a case or a wheeled box, travels by air and does not open a heavy freight file at customs. Build: two people put it up in a few hours, with no site crew and no build-day charges.

Those three are worth a great deal on a particular usage profile. For a sales team attending five or six regional events a year and sending two people each time, a portable kit is the most efficient answer.

The same profile does not hold for a manufacturer doing one large fair a year. Our stand types page states the floor area up to which a portable set-up is recommended.

Where it falls short

Portable set-ups carry no load. Shelves, cases and screens need their own leg or a table top, and anything hung on the wall is limited. Displaying a heavy product is off the table from the start.

Surface quality also differs. Tensioned fabric and printed panel do not read like a hard painted surface. From a metre away you see the weave, the frame edge and any unevenness in the tension. That is no problem at a small event; alongside neighbouring stands at an international fair it is noticed.

Then there is the lack of closed volume. A portable set-up has no store, no lockable cupboard and no meeting area. Catalogue boxes sit under the table, bags stay on the floor, and by the second day the stand starts to look untidy.

Using portable well

It helps to think of a portable kit as a presentation surface rather than a stand. One message, one product, one call to action. The less content it carries the stronger it reads; trying to fit three products, four text blocks and two logos onto a small surface ruins it.

The second useful habit is treating the portable kit as part of the system stand. If the same tensioned fabric graphic also fits the modular frame, it works inside the large stand at a big fair and alone at a small event. Ask about that compatibility when buying.

Third, plan the graphics. Print sets the life of a portable kit, and a graphic frayed at the edges makes the whole set look old. Budgeting graphics as a separate consumable stops you replacing the kit before you need to.

Portable: cities we have built in

We produce this type in the same workshop for fairs in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir and the German venues and build it in the hall with our own crew; the cities we serve are listed on the locations page.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Fast to build
  • Costs less than a bespoke build
  • Small shipping volume

Cons

  • Design stays within system limits

Stands we have built

We have not published a project under this heading yet; these three stands from other fairs show the work of our workshop.

Frequently asked

What floor areas do you build a Portable stand for?
We work in the 4-20 m² range, and 0 published projects on this site are of this type. What decides the layout is not the area but how many sides are open and what you want to show on the walls; we use the same system on a small corner stand and on an island in the middle of the hall.
How long does a Portable stand take to build?
The build in the hall takes 1-1 days; the schedule of the hall matters as much as the size of the stand. Our own crew does the build, and we take the dismantle at closing too.
How does the process work for a Portable stand?
We start with the floor area, the open sides and the fair date, then draw the design. Once it is approved the stand is produced in the workshop and built in the hall to the fair calendar; at closing, our crew dismantles it.
Can you build a portable stand in a hotel function room or a congress foyer?
Yes, that is where we use this type most. We find out the venue's build hours and loading route, build the stand in a day and pack it away the same day the event ends.
Do we need a power connection?
A single socket is enough for the counter light, the panel spot and the screen. If the venue has no socket nearby we bring the cable and extension; at a large fair we order the power from the organiser ourselves.
When do we need to hand over the print files?
On a comfortable schedule, 4 weeks before the event. You send the logo and images, we lay them out to the panel dimensions and submit them for your approval. For jobs that come in later we run an accelerated programme.
What should we send for a quote?
The name and date of the event, the venue, the dimensions of your plot and the product you will show. The quote form is here; the first concept is free and we reply within 48 hours.
Can a portable stand travel by air?
Most kits do. Case size and weight are chosen against the airline’s baggage limit; kits over the limit go as freight and part of the advantage is lost.
Can a screen be fitted to a portable stand?
Small screens go on their own stand. Fixing to the frame is possible only within the manufacturer’s stated load limit, which appears in the purchase documentation.
