Fair application and space contract

Front elevation visualisation of the stand: a vertical screen in the centre, timber shelves displaying label rolls on either side, and quality and experience messages on the fascia.

Short answer

What should you check in a space contract?

Five clauses: the payment schedule and when each instalment becomes binding; cancellation, where the refund depends on the date you release the space; whether the position is final, since some contracts let the organiser move you; height limits and rules on surfaces facing a neighbour; and contractor approval, which requires the company building your stand to be declared and accepted. These five are the part of the contract that is not about price, and they are usually signed unread. Yet cancellation sets the budget risk, the height limit sets the design, and contractor approval sets who you may work with. All of them are read alongside the technical manual that comes with the contract.
