Short answer

How closely does a 3D visual match the built stand?

A 3D visual is accurate about dimensions, layout, height and where the graphics sit, because those come from the model. It is not accurate about material texture, the effect of hall lighting, crowds or cable management. Renders are usually produced empty, clean and in ideal light. When approving, look at the plan and sections behind the visual rather than the visual itself, and judge materials from physical samples, not a screen.
