Displaying fabric at textile fairs

Design visualisation of the Yeniler Etiket stand at the Eurasia Packaging Fair: a green brand fascia on a dark body, timber display units and label rolls.

Short answer

How should fabric be displayed at a textile fair?

Fabric sells on its drape, so it is released from a hanging rail rather than stretched over a flat panel. The rail sits around 200 centimetres, leaving the lower edge some 20 centimetres clear of the floor: the drape reads and the hem stays clean. Buyers do not decide without touching, so a metre of loose cloth is left within reach at the front. Use one colour temperature throughout and high colour rendering fittings; under two different lights the same cloth becomes two different colours.
