Setting a scene at furniture fairs

Uğur Yılmaz · Brand & Visual Communications Manager · 3 min read · Last updated:

Visualisation from the opposite corner: the two brand fascias, the circular-pattern wall in the centre and the meeting tables.

Short answer

How is a furniture fair stand laid out?

As room scenes rather than a line of products. Furniture sells in context: without a rug, lighting, a wall colour and neighbouring pieces, a sofa standing alone looks oversized and its proportions do not read. Walkways run between the scenes, because visitors are meant to step in and sit down, and furniture nobody sits on does not get specified. Floor and ceiling decisions matter as much as the display; those two surfaces carry the domestic feeling. Wear on upholstery and edges over four days is accepted from the start.
