Exhibition stands at Fiera Milano

A Turkish furniture or machinery manufacturer going to Milan will be standing next to hundreds of Italian and German stands across 345,000 square metres at Rho. So our first question on a Fiera Milano job is not "how many square metres" but "from what distance should the product be seen". We draw the stand around that answer, produce it in our workshop in Beylikdüzü, ship it to Italy, build it in the hall and take it down when the fair closes. Freight, the ATA Carnet and customs are our work; you take delivery of a finished stand in the hall.

Building in the Fiera Milano halls: what we have learned

Across the 8 halls at Rho, the loading gate and build slot follow the hall management's schedule, and we leave Istanbul according to that schedule. The technical file, height approval and any rigging permit are obtained in advance, and production in the workshop does not start before the written approval is back. In the hall a maxima stand takes one to three days, a timber stand two to five.

In Italy we do not have a local office like our Aachen office in Germany. Instead, our build crew is in Milan from the start of build week and stays until the handover walk. We have built stands in 10 countries and the routine is the same in each: trial assembly in the workshop, shipping, customs, build in the hall, handover the day before opening.

The jobs we show to companies heading for Milan come from Germany and Russia. On the timber side, the stand we built for Cemer Kent Ekipmanları at FSB Cologne is 105 square metres; on the machinery side, the Öz Metal 2023 Hanover exhibition stand is a 36 square metre maxima. There is more on our furniture and machinery pages.

Fairs at this venue

  • Salone del Mobile.Milano, 13–18 April 2027. Furniture; for uninterrupted surfaces, warm light and a showroom feel we suggest a custom timber build. Our preparation timeline for the same sector is on the Istanbul Furniture Fair page.
  • EMO Milan, 4–8 October 2027. Machine tools; because the machine is shown running, the floor, the power and any compressed air order go in with the technical file. Stands we have built in the same sector are listed on the MAKTEK Eurasia page.

Which stand type

  • Custom timber build: our first suggestion for Salone. When the product itself is furniture, the stand surface must not compete with it, and timber lets us control that. Two to five days in the hall.
  • Maxima system: for machinery fairs like EMO, an aluminium grid that closes neatly around the machine; one to three days in the hall.
  • Island and corner stands: to be seen from more than one side in a crowded hall.

Frequently asked

How do freight and customs to Italy work?
The stand leaves Beylikdüzü as numbered parts; freight, the ATA Carnet and customs are handled by us. If you want your products to travel with the stand, we take the list at the quotation stage and enter it on the same document.
Who builds the stand in Milan, and how long are you in the hall?
Our own crew. Because the stand has already been assembled and taken apart once in the workshop, the work in the hall is assembly, lighting and graphics: two to five days for a timber stand, one to three for a maxima. We walk the stand together the day before opening, and we dismantle it at the close.
Do you know the Fiera Milano hall regulations?
Every fair has its own technical rules, and rather than guess we learn them by writing to the hall management. Height, rigging and power applications are made by us; production does not start before the written reply is back.
What should we send for a quote?
The fair name and dates, your floor area, the number of open sides and the hall plan if you have it. Add the dimensions and weight of the products you will show. Send it through the quote form; we reply within 48 hours and the first concept is free.
