Exhibition stands at Koelnmesse

The Cemer Kent Ekipmanları stand: a spherical climbing unit set on sand, a world-map brand wall behind it and meeting tables in front.

Our Cologne job is a 105 square metre timber stand: the stand we built for Cemer Kent Ekipmanları at FSB Cologne, for a playground equipment manufacturer. When the product is as large and heavy as playground equipment, the stand stops being a surface and becomes a floor and a load-bearing structure. We settle that in the first step of the design and produce the stand in Beylikdüzü accordingly. Building at Koelnmesse, with its 11 halls and 284,000 square metres, means the vehicle that has cleared customs drives straight to the hall gate and our crew is already waiting there. We run the whole of that route ourselves.

Building in the Koelnmesse halls: what we have learned

A timber stand takes two to five days in the hall, because the timber is cut and painted in the workshop, the trial assembly is done in Beylikdüzü and the stand arrives in the hall with finished surfaces. What remains on site is assembly, lighting and graphics. At the close of the fair our own crew takes it down.

Height approval, rigging application and the technical file go from us. At German fairs our Aachen office gives local support, so for the correspondence with the hall and during build week you have a contact on the German side.

The Koelnmesse calendar is weighted towards furniture, furniture components, office and food. In those sectors the stand is mostly a matter of surface and light. Our furniture and food and beverage pages show stands from other fairs; the playground equipment page carries the Cemer pictures.

Fairs at this venue

  • ORGATEC, 27–30 October 2026. Office furniture; the product is used on the stand, so the meeting area and the display area are furnished with the same pieces.
  • imm cologne, 19–22 January 2027. Furniture; for uninterrupted surfaces and warm light we suggest a custom timber build.
  • Anuga FoodTec, 23–26 February 2027. Food machinery; power and water orders for a running machine go in with the technical file.
  • interzum, 11–14 May 2027. Furniture components, fittings and surfaces; samples within arm's reach decide the floor plan.
  • Anuga, 9–13 October 2027. Food; the power load for tasting counters and chillers is calculated from the start.
  • FSB Cologne, 26–29 October 2027. Sports and playground equipment; our Cemer stand comes from this fair.

Which stand type

  • Custom timber build: the type we chose for Cemer; for heavy products, uninterrupted surfaces and dimensions drawn for your brand. Two to five days in the hall.
  • Maxima system: aluminium profile grid with printed panels; one to three days in the hall. Our suggestion for a first Cologne fair on a tight calendar.
  • Corner stand: on a plot with two open sides we turn the product towards the aisle.

Frequently asked

How does the stand get to Cologne?
It leaves our Beylikdüzü workshop as numbered parts; freight, the ATA Carnet and customs are handled by us. When the vehicle reaches the hall gate our crew is there, and you take delivery of a finished stand.
Who obtains the height and rigging approvals in the hall?
We do. We follow the Koelnmesse technical regulations fair by fair, because the height limit and the rigging permit are not the same at every event. The technical file goes to the hall management from us, and production does not start before written approval is back.
Can you put a heavy product that visitors will climb on onto the stand?
Yes. We ask for the product weight and how it will be used at the quotation stage, then draw the floor and the structure to match, with reinforcement under the floor where needed.
What should we send for a quote?
The fair name and dates, your floor area, the number of open sides, the hall plan if you have it and a list of the products you will show. Fill in the quote form; we reply within 48 hours, the first concept is free and the written budget comes in three options.
